Sunday Morning Reflection
A View from the Balcony Beyond Time
The Lord Is Close to the Brokenhearted
Sunday mornings often carry a quiet stillness.
For some, it’s a time of joy, worship, and gratitude. For others, it’s a time when the silence feels heavier — when memories surface, when loss is felt more deeply, and when the heart carries more than it can explain.
It’s in those moments that this verse speaks with such power:
📖 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”— Psalm 34:18
From the Balcony Beyond Time, we are reminded of a truth that is easy to forget when life hurts:
God does not distance Himself from our pain. He draws closer to it.
When hearts are broken, He is near. When spirits are crushed, He is present. When words fail, He understands.
So often, we think we need to have everything together before we come to God. We try to be strong, to hold ourselves up, to push through the pain.
But Scripture tells a different story.
God is not drawn to strength alone —He is drawn to surrender.
He meets us not just in our victories, but in our vulnerability.
From the eternal perspective, the broken places in our lives are not places of abandonment — they are places of encounter.
It is in those moments of grief, loss, and uncertainty that we begin to experience God in a deeper, more personal way. Not as an idea, not as a distant figure — but as a present help in the middle of our reality.
📖 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… He restores my soul.”— Psalm 23:1,3
Restoration doesn’t mean the pain never existed. It means God meets us within it and begins to heal what we could never heal on our own.
If your heart feels heavy this Sunday morning…If you’re carrying something no one else can see…If you’re trying to hold it together while quietly breaking inside…
Know this:
From the balcony beyond time, God sees you. He understands every tear. He hears every unspoken prayer. And He is closer than you think.
You are not alone in your pain. You are not forgotten in your struggle. You are not beyond His reach.
The same God who holds eternity is holding your heart.
So, this morning, don’t try to hide the brokenness. Bring it to Him.
Sit quietly in His presence. Let Him meet you there. Let Him begin the healing.
Because the promise still stands:
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
And from His eternal view, He is already working to restore what feels lost.
🙏 Lord, draw near to every broken heart today. Bring comfort where there is pain, peace where there is unrest, and hope where there feels like none. Remind us that You are always nearby. Amen. 💛
