The book of Obadiah

"A View from the Balcony Beyond Time"

Wednesday Morning — The book of Obadiah

As we look ahead to our Thursday morning Bible study, we’ll be opening one of the shortest books in the Bible — the book of Obadiah. Though it is only one chapter long, its message is powerful and still speaks clearly into the world we live in today.

Obadiah warns about pride, arrogance, and turning our backs on others in their time of trouble. The people of Edom believed they were secure because of their strength and position, but God reminded them that pride can blind us to truth and separate us from His will.

“The pride of your heart has deceived you…” — Obadiah 1:3

From the Balcony Beyond Time, this short book reminds us that God sees what the world often overlooks. He sees the attitudes of our hearts, the way we treat others, and whether we walk in humility or pride.

But Obadiah also reminds us of something even greater:

“And the kingdom will be the Lord’s.” — Obadiah 1:21

In the end, God’s justice, mercy, and kingdom will prevail.

Join us this Thursday morning as we explore this powerful little book together. Sometimes the shortest messages in Scripture carry the deepest lessons.

From the balcony beyond time, God invites us to walk in humility, seek His truth, and trust that His kingdom is always at work.

Looking forward to studying it together.
