🌅 Monday Morning — “Why?”

There comes a time in our faith journey when we begin to ask a different kind of question.
There comes a time in our faith journey when we begin to ask a different kind of question.

For many years, when life became hard, my first question was:

“Why?”

Why did this happen?

Why this pain?

Why this delay?

Why this season?

Why me?

And there’s nothing wrong with bringing our “why” questions to God. He can handle our honesty. But over time, I’ve learned that “why” does not always bring peace.

Sometimes the better question is:

“What?”

What are You teaching me, Lord?

What are You forming in me?

What do You want me to see?

What can I learn from this moment?

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

From the Balcony Beyond Time, God sees more than the pain of the moment. He sees the purpose being shaped through it. He sees the growth, the healing, the wisdom, and the strength that may not be visible to us yet.

Asking “why” often keeps us looking backward.

Asking “what” helps us move forward with faith.

So, as we begin this new week, maybe the prayer is simple:

Lord, help me stop asking only why this happened…

and begin asking what You want to grow in me through it.

Because from God’s higher view, nothing is wasted — not even the questions.
