"A View from the Balcony Beyond Time"
Thursday Morning- Trusting the Captain
One of the most striking details in the story of Noah’s Ark isn’t the size of the flood — it’s the design of the boat.
When God gave Noah the plans, He was precise about every measurement. The length. The width. The height. The wood. The sealant. Every detail was intentional.
But there was something noticeably missing.
No steering wheel.
No sail.
No engine.
The Ark wasn’t built to be steered.
It was built to float.
Noah had no control over direction, speed, or destination. Once the door closed, he was completely at the mercy of the waters — and entirely in the hands of God.
From the balcony beyond time, this becomes a powerful picture of our own lives.
So often we try to install our own steering wheels — forcing outcomes, controlling timing, directing paths. But there are seasons when God asks us not to captain the ship… but to trust the Captain.
Noah’s role was obedience.
God’s role was direction.
And in the end, the Ark arrived exactly where it was meant to.
If you’re in a season where you feel out of control, maybe that’s not a mistake. Maybe it’s an invitation.
To stop striving.
To stop steering.
To float in faith.
From the balcony beyond time, God already sees your safe landing.
